Day One Hundred and ThirtyFour: Brake-Fast

I ended the 3 day juice fast with some microwaved corn.  I wasn’t excited to break it, it’s just that being on vacation I wasn’t prepared for a prolonged fast.  I’m definitely going to do it again.  For the record this was an impulse fast to help motivate my mom to indulge in the vegan lifestyle.  I wanted to share with her how easy it was.  By doing the fast she did have some positive feedback.  She had a hiccup due to her gout.  That’s because of the sugar content in the fruit.  She was excited by the benefits.  I did share with her that the fruit content didn’t have to be abundant.  Again we just used whatever fresh vegetables and fruit we had laying around.  We simply ran out.   I honestly can’t wait to get back on it again when I finish my vacation.  I’m literally looking forward to it.

Day One Hundred and ThirtyThree: Juicing part three

Third day of juicing/going raw.  I had to skip the gym today because strength levels are low.  I feel great, a lot better than yesterday.  I’m not nauseous anymore so it appears I’m past my detoxing phase.  Tomorrow I’m going to go to the gym though.  I can’t stand being out for so long.     Still enjoying my vacation.  Did some work today but not a lot.  So far so good on the home front.

The cool thing is I didn’t  expect to go raw/juice fast during my vacation.  I had talked about doing that when I got back.  Seeing my mom motivated pushed me to do it too.  Sometimes the best things come unexpected.  We need to learn to embrace life’s unexpected events.  They can be game changing.

Day One Hundred and ThirtyTwo: Juicing part two

Well I made it to day 2 of juicing.  My mom and i went for a walk and let me say Port Orchard Washington is beautiful.  We spent some time down at the water and talked.  We never had that opportunity back in California.  We were always surrounded by family and friends.  We always had something going on.  So today was real pleasant and peaceful.

On day 2 of juicing I experienced some nausea.  I woke up a little light headed as well.  Reading online I learned that this is common for my body is starting to detox itself.

I won’t lie, I’m enjoying it.  I feel like not only is my body detoxing but so is my mind.  I have had a lot on my mind this past year and a half.

So is juicing hard to do?  Not if you want better for your body.  I’ve been vegging out my entire vacation so far and believe me temptations are around me.  However knowing what is ahead after I juice is a stronger temptation.  Sure I want something to eat but I want a better health more.  My advice to juicing?

1.  Always consult your physician because I “aint” no doctor.
2.  Make sure you are determined because the temptation to cheat is extremely strong.
3.  Enjoy it, because getting better is always great.

Day One Hundred and Thirtyone: Juicing

Today I juiced or blended with my mom. She watched, “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” with me. She was so motivated she wanted to try and juice fast with me before I head on my second destination on my vacation.  We did pretty good today.  We didn’t exactly juice fast. It was more like a raw fast. We did drink 90% of our meals today but we ended up snacking on some pickled cucumbers.  My auntie made it for my welcoming bbq in Saturday.  It’s real good. I have to get the recipe.  All I know is its got kool-aid in it. It’s so amazing.  So more to follow with that update.
